Ellenville Airport Policies

Ultimately the Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) are the ruling on operations at any US airport.
Specifically at Ellenville, the following apply:
1. When entering the airport with your vehicle, you must have a code for the electronic gate and must be sure the gate is
closed before proceeding to your aircraft or hangar.
2. When entering the airport with your vehicle, take extreme care to look out for and avoid aircraft. Do not park in any area
that will hinder aircraft movement.
3. You as an aircraft operator or owner must be sure your aircraft is properly tied or locked in the hangar. All keys should
be removed and doors locked on tied aircraft.
4. When departing on runway 22, avoid the school by turning slightly left, staying to the ridge side of the school grounds.
5. When departing on runway 04, avoid the state prison by turning slightly left, staying away from that facility.
6. When approaching to land on 04, avoid the school by staying right of a straight in approach until past the school.
Be sure to stay at or above the glide path per the indicators on the field.

8. Touch and Goes are not permitted at Ellenville. Too often a touch and go puts the altitude of the aircraft too low over the
school. In the effort to keep in good standing with our community and school, it is essential that we do everything we
can to avoid the school safely.
9. There is a self fueling system at Ellenville. It is essential that everyone follow the directions and use appropriate caution
in using the system.
10. The airport is closed annually for the evening of July 4th for a fireworks display. Set up of the fireworks takes place most
of the day. Use extreme caution. Usually the airport closes at 8:00 pm. Check NOTAMs for actual closures.
